The Penn Plaza area received several new LED video displays manufactured by S|N|A. The displays, located at 427 7th Avenue, are directly across from Madison Square Garden and Penn Station at the intersection of 33rd Street and 7th Avenue. The display system includes over 1600 square feet of LED and more than 1.5 million pixels.
The location features three separate high-resolution 10 mm pitch S|Video displays. The main wall-mounted LED display is 30'9" tall by 34'8" wide. The total resolution of this display is 1056x936 pixels.
There are two roof-mounted LED video displays with a tight custom corner to allow for virtually seamless content and integration. The north-facing roof display is 10'8" tall x 19'8" wide and has a resolution of 600x324 pixels. The west-facing roof display is 10'8" tall x 35'5" wide and has a resolution of 1080x324 pixels.
All S|Video signage in the project employs surface-mount device (SMD) technology, where the LEDs in each pixel are packaged together, allowing for crisp, clear imagery and a widened viewing experience.
Advertising for the LED displays is currently managed by Clear Channel. The displays face both north and west and offer the area's high concentration of pedestrian traffic a variety of different signs and angles to view the vibrant content. The S|N|A LED signage is also visible from the Macy's intersection at 34th Street and 7th Avenue and offers viewers a unique perspective of the Empire State Building in the background.
