The Turkish Statistical Institute has announced that Turkey's gross domestic product in the Q3 of the current year grew by 7.7% to TRL 377.6 million in current prices and by 1.6% in constant prices to TRL 31.6 million both compared to the same period of the previous year.

Meanwhile, in the Q3 of 2012 Turkey's seasonal and calendar adjusted GDP increased by 0.2% compared to the previous quarter. In the first nine months of the year, Turkey's GDP saw a growth of 2.6% in constant priecs reaching TRL 87.65 million.

According to the TUIK data, Turkey's manufacturing sector which saw a 2.8% increase in productivity in the first 9 months of the year contributed 24.5% of Turkey's overall GDP in the given period.

Mr Zafer Caglayan economic minister of Turkey said that Turkish economic growth was supported by exports and that without the 3.4 percentage point positive contribution due to exports Turkey's economy would have contracted by 1.8% in the Q3.
