SAIC-GM, a joint venture (JV) between SAIC Motor, General Motors, and Liuzhou Wuling announced that the company is planning to introduce a new Chevrolet LOVA RV in Q4 2015, which will be specially designed for the Chinese market.
The Chevrolet Lova RV or recreational vehicles is popularly known as minivans in the US, and according to General Motors the car inherits Chevrolet's spirit of "energy and optimism" and is targeted towards the younger Chinese customers looking for leisure vehicle.
The company teased the vehicle with a silhouette of a blue car with a stretched body and "floating roofline". It features a longer wheelbase when compared to the Lova sedan.
According to GM, LOVA RV is based on an all-new utility vehicle platform and the stretched body has been designed to provide more space for passengers and their belongings.
The LOVA nameplate was introduced in China in 2006, which was the first-generation sedan version of the Chevrolet Aveo (Sonic).
The first generation model sonic was a four-door sedan which was available in two engine options which included the 1.2-liter gasoline engine option capable of producing 70 horsepower and a 1.3-liter turbo diesel engine.
GM claims that the car has become popular among consumers nationwide, and the LOVA RV carries on that tradition.
The company has not given out any technical specification of the vehicle.
