US-based packaging conversion company Printpack has announced plans to invest $66m to expand its local processing facilities on the Villa Rica campus.

Printpack vice president of supply chain Michael Verbeten said the company has four separate facilities on the Villa Rica campus at present.

"We'll be adding a 46,000-square-foot addition, along with recapitalization of all our current equipment within that facility," Verbeten said.

According to the Georgia economic development officials, the firm's expansion will include major equipment additions and pollution control upgrades.

The company's decision to invest in advanced technology at the Villa Rica operation is said to be a reflection of the state's workforce, logistics infrastructure, and other key advantages for manufacturers.

Printpack currently maintains Villa Rica operations employing a total of 550 in its four local facilities, and the expansion is set to include an addition of 20 new jobs while retaining 20 existing positions.

The company offers product and service capabilities from 28 manufacturing sites world-wide and its customer base includes global brand owners in a diverse array of end-use markets.
